Health Care Reform
Health Care Reform and West Virginia Women
Confused about what health care reform means for you? WV FREE works with coalition partners across the state, including West Virginians for Affordable Health Care, to educate women and families about opportunities available since passage of the Affordable Care Act (ACA). This coalition of groups produced What Health Reform Means to Women and Families, an educational resource for women and families in West Virginia that includes information about new preventive benefits, new options for health care coverage, and the basics of health care reform. Whether you have private, public, or no insurance at all, this booklet will help you navigate the “ins and outs” of health care reform in West Virginia.
Please check out our national partner Raising Women’s Voices for more resources and information about health care reform + women. WV FREE is the regional coordinator with Raising Women’s Voices (RWV), a national initiative working to make sure women’s voices are heard and women’s concerns are addressed as policymakers put the health care law into action. RWV was founded in 2007 by the Black Women’s Health Imperative, the National Women’s Health Network and the MergerWatch Project of Community Catalyst and currently has 25 regional coordinators in 23 states and the District of Columbia.
