WV FREE has released our 3rd report on Teen Childbearing in West Virginia. The report includes new data on West Virginia’s teen childbearing rate, as well as a best strategies and recommendations section. WV FREE Teen Pregnancy Research Report Issued June 2013.
An explanation of our 2011 report is given through the webinar: “Teen Pregnancy in West Virginia: Get the Facts to Help Teens Lead Healthy Productive Lives” WV Perinatal Partnership, the National Campaign to Prevent Teen & Unplanned Pregnancy and WV FREE presented the webinar through the Charleston Area Medical Center’s Health Education & Research Institute. The webinar is posted on CAMC’s website and continuing education credits are available for physicians, social workers, health educators and nurses for two years. WV FREE’s first report was commissioned by the West Virginia Perinatal Partnership in 2008 to write a paper studying teen pregnancy and childbearing in West Virginia, the problems associated with the rising rate of teen pregnancy, and recommendations for what we can do about it.
