Mission & Values

Vision Statement

WV FREE envisions the elevation and empowerment of all West Virginians through the promotion of dignity and autonomy of women and families.

Mission

WV FREE builds stronger communities through advocacy and education on reproductive health, rights and justice.

Core Values

Respect for All

Our work is centered in our respect for people’s lives. We believe that access to reproductive health care and education are fundamental human rights, essential for equality, health, and dignity of all people.

Reproductive and social justice

We believe in the human right to bodily integrity and control over one’s body and the ability to parent children in healthy and safe environments. We understand our work to be part of a larger social justice/reproductive justice movement to ensure the rights of all families. This includes support for low-income people to care for their children with dignity.

Focused on those facing the highest barriers

We focus our direct services work and our advocacy on ensuring access and rights for all, especially those who face the highest barriers — low-income communities, communities of color, and youth.

Advocacy shaped by people’s experiences

We seek to lift up and highlight the experiences of those most affected by barriers to education and health care in order to move public opinion and shape public policy to improve life chances for all West Virginians.

Thank you Nina Dawn Casto, Gina Hart-Smith and The Folded Leaf Yoga & Wellness Center for thinking of us when you selected a charity to donate towards! 💜 Registration is still open using the link below.Hey Everyone!! Gina Hart-Smith and I are really excited to host this event for the 3rd time this Saturday. We are calling in all who identify as women whom seek conscious connection with other open-minded women. Those who have been feeling like they need to shake lose any stagnant energy still hanging around from the cold winter months. Anyone needing to release stress and tension, ground into the body and clear the mind. This is basically just one big heart-opening sober dance party to celebrate one another that ends with a awesome crystal bowl sound healing mediation. We hope you will join us to dance and shake your bones!!!! ... See MoreSee Less
